This LP was recorded with myself and sax/flute player Scott Sheerin in 1981 with the amazing Daniel Lanois at the controls in his Grant Ave. Studios, Hamilton, Ontario along with Canadian folk legend David Essig. We recorded the music live over two or three days.
Much cherished appearances on some of the tracks were made by the incredible Scott Merritt and Bob Becker along with Kimberly Boyce, Carleen Amos and Paula Hassard. Valuable contributions were made by Jude Johnson and Rob Wallinger.
This music lives on as a part of Yukon’s musical heritage. I like to think that time hasn’t eroded or dulled the shine of my music. With this passage of time it still resonates for many listeners. I hope it does for you as well!

And on another topic…
In terms of making new sounds, when the spirit moves me I will experiment with the wide variety of music making utilities available now for the creatives of the world. Simply amazing. It’s like the Garden of Eden where you simply pluck the fruit and eat.
I’m intrigued with the idea of translating imagery into sound. Using a freeware program called Virtual ANS which allows you to do so, I loaded a picture of Stephen King and composed the following piece. Has a creepy tinge to it. How apropos!
This next track is a little more accessible featuring some nice flute by Scott Sheerin from one of our sessions back in the day where we explored ideas for new tunes. My dad’s art serves as the background. Regretfully there’s a bit of distortion here and there because the remix was recorded too hot. Will fix at some point.Views: 13564
