This is my tip of the hat for the American Presidential inauguration day. I gave this llinocut a ‘folk art’ look with strong reference to the African American vernacular.

Some Americans have a reputation for a myopic view of the world. Let’s hope that Obama’s unprecedented international appeal will encourage everyone to expand their view encouraging a recognition of what others are doing on this planet.

Consider their neighbor to the north. Canada is the USA’s biggest trading partner. Canada exports more oil to the States than Saudi Arabia and Canadian troops have been fighting and dying along side American soldiers in Afghanistan ever since 9/11.
