Seems lately I’m addicted to using my iPad tablet as a sketchbook, which is pretty handy.
With this image I’m clearly playing with emulating the look of a relief print. Making parallel lines and cross hatching is very satisfying and I do like the messy look of it in this case. Although I spent more time on this than I would have on an actual woodcut or lino.
One drawback to drawing on a touchscreen with a stylus is the shiny glass surface doesn’t offer up much resistance unless you use your finger tip. Never did like finger painting, so I’ll stick with the stylus.
Regardless, I am sketching and drawing way more than I used to which is ironic since I have enough physical art materials of every description to last for several lifetimes.
