Gravers

This is the first of a series of articles I’d like to post regarding the different types of cutting tools used for wood engraving starting with the graver. In cross-section this is a lozenge or diamond shape. They come in various sizes but some are sharpened on different angles relative to the length of the tool.

For beginners trying wood engraving this is the only tool you really need for starters as it will keep you occupied for some time.

Shown above are some of the profiles available and the resulting cut made by each.

Just beginning to explore printmaking with wooden blocks and checking on tools and techniques. Your store/website was mentioned in an online article by r banks at instuctables.com. Thanks for a very good website!

So great if you could take a minute and leave your thoughts on this.
