Not long ago I learned about a condition of the human intellect called the Dunning Kruger effect. To quote Wikipedia; “The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which low-ability individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly assessing their ability as much higher than it really is.”

People with this condition are the ones who barge ahead without questioning their path or assuredness whereas a competent person will always introspect and weigh all the possibilities available to them before making a decision and continue to adjust in the face of variables that might present themselves during the course of action.

I have a strong suspicion that Ms. Palin is a prime example of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
