Here’s my twist on the trillions of selfies floating out there in the digital ether. Although I approached it a bit differently than most by making my smartphone image into an actual woodblock print. Somehow it perhaps lends an air of legitimacy to the whole selfie obsession, right?
The matrix is half-inch birch plywood cut with my gouges, etc. Inked up with Gamblin black on handmade Japanese washi paper. The paper is rather precious since it came down from my father’s collection, it’s the real deal!
